Dr. Anna Falanga joined ISTH TV to discuss the important mission of the European Thrombosis and Haemostasis Alliance (ETHA). ETHA is a collaboration of 23 countries, established with a goal of reducing the burden of thrombosis in Europe and raising awareness of clotting and bleeding disorders. With venus thromboembolism as the cause of 1 in 4 deaths worldwide, the alliance is leading the charge in Europe to enable hospitals to more effectively prevent and treat this disease. One of the key areas of focus for the alliance is the treatment of cancer-associated thrombosis, which is a leading cause of death and disability among cancer patients.
